Our Commitment

Chandler Materials Essex TP are committed to; operating a sustainable business, protecting our environment and the future of our planet, supporting our community & colleagues, ensuring we are compliant with all governance relevant to our business.

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) stands for how we impact the planet, people and how the company is run. It refers to the three key areas that help us run a better, more responsible business. For us as a builders merchant, ESG means everything from reducing energy and waste, to stocking sustainable products, supporting staff wellbeing, working with our local community to support projects or renovations for the good of local people and ensuring our suppliers follow good practices.

We have introduced ESG Champions across the different departments across the business. These Champions are there to:

  • Raise awareness and share knowledge about sustainability issues
  • Motivate & inspire Stakeholders to get involved
  • Show that sustainable practices are achievable
  • Overcome resistance to change and keep momentum going

Our Commitment to our People & The Local Community

Chandler Materials remains committed to supporting our teams, their wellbeing & projects that deliver long-term change in our community. One of the Company Objectives for 2026 – Prioritise our people, recognising and developing them as our greatest asset.

As a family business, helping & supporting local charities & communities is something near & dear to our hearts. In 2025 the business donated over £20,000 of FOC materials to local charities & community groups.

We never forget that without our customers we wouldn’t be where are today so rest assured, we’ll keep working to make sure the customer is at the forefront of everything we do. – Chandler Materials’ Directors
